Kate is an award winning pastel artist. She is a founding member of the Plein Air Painters of the Chesapeake Bay and is also a member of The Maryland Pastel Society, the International Association of Pastels Artists, Chestertown River Arts Center, The Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, and the St. Michaels Art League. Her work has been exhibited in a number of locations in Maryland.
