Fredy Granillo is a Chestertown based artist from the tiny and turbulent country of El Salvador, Central America. He has been painting “Talavera” style pottery since he was 11 years old, and he later studied visual arts and ceramics at the Salvadoran National University. His exploration of this traditional decorative style has evolved and flourished since his transition to the United States. His brand “Pajarito” or little bird, is a nod to the resilience of his people who practice grace and ingenuity to survive each day.
