Pastel is a direct and colorful medium, ideal for depicting my favorites subjects--the landscapes of Maryland's' Eastern Shore, coastal Maine and rural Nova Scotia. I enjoy sharing this fascinating medium with students and visitors beyond the formality of gallery openings. A studio visit is a great way to see the entire process, from beginning sketches to the finished pastel.
